Our babies are 37 weeks!!!! Can you believe that I had Branson at 37 weeks exactly and he weighed 5 lbs 14oz! The shocking thing is what our twins weigh now compared to Branson...... Brielynn weighs 5lbs 14oz and Ashton weighs 4lbs 9oz. It amazes me that Brielynn weighs what Branson did, it must mean that they are related:) This week is a big week for our babies. We have a few tests to accomplish and pass, all for the means to going home. On Sunday both babies had a hearing test and both passed, yay! Now, for the rest of the week we have a head ultrasound, eye exam, and a 2 hour car seat evaluation. This 2 hour car seat evaluation will determine if our babies can handle the stress of a car seat, if they cannot, we have to wait one more week and try again and they cannot come home until they pass this test. We are continuing to work on feedings and surprisingly Ashton is a pro! Both babies need to bottle feed for every feeding and so far we have not gotten to that point yet, they do get tired out from it, so we just have to work at it every day. Ashton is still on oxygen but slowly, and I mean slowly coming off of it. I talked to the doctor this morning and we both decided to delay his car seat evaluation until next week sometime in the hopes that he might be off of oxygen by then, so he can come home with out that extra help. We are praying for this and are crossing our fingers.
Lastly, one of the biggest stresses was finding out we needed special car seats to support our little ones. Here we thought what we had was good enough and to find out we needed special seats that were meant to support preemies, and smaller sized babies. So thankfully, both of our parents are stepping in to help with this cost. Now we are just preparing for our little ones to come home. Still no set date, but yesterday and today I have been nesting like I was still pregnant. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear more.
